<view story> 01/14/2011 - PATRICK HESS NAMED EDAC CHAIRMAN The Kendallville Economic Development Advisory Committee voted on Thursday, January 13, to elect Patrick Hess as its new Chairman. The EDAC is comprised of several community leaders who are involved in economic growth initiatives in and around Kendallville. The primary function of the EDAC is to review all Tax Abatement requests submitted to the City of Kendallville. Once reviewed, the committee votes whether to present the request to the City Council for a vote. Many such requests are made each year and several are approved based on both short and long term economic impact in Kendallville. Aside from Tax Abatements, the EDAC is also responsible for marketing the City of Kendallville to outside businesses interested in locating their operations in Kendallville. The EDAC is a partner with the City of Kendallville through a contract with the City and the Kendallville Chamber of Commerce, which facilitates the financial budget of the EDAC.
